So Sayeth the Odinson: The Odinson Presents a 2013 Christmas Bonus: Tough Santa

Greetings from the Odinson,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  Last week Diamond Distributors released an awesome list of comics that feature Santa Claus, but these appearances feature a Kris Kringle the likes of which you may not have seen before.  If Die Hard has taught us anything, it’s that sometimes Christmas is a time for action. And the following list features Father Christmas at his butt-kicking best.

The Odinson Presents a 2013 Christmas Bonus: Tough Santa

Flash #87 – An uncharacteristic Holiday heatwave engulfs Keystone City and ignites a crimewave.  Can the Crimson Comet save Christmas?

Iron Man #254 – The uncanny Taskmaster is back and training and turning henchmen into elite lackeys.  Can even the Invincible Iron Man survive the assault of the Taskmaster’s latest protégé, the all-new, even deadlier Spymaster?

JLA #60 – The World’s Greatest Super Heroes welcome a new member into the ranks – the mighty Santa Claus?!  But will Father Christmas survive his first adventure with the Justice League when a powerful adversary unleashes his unholy might to ruin Christmas forever?

Daredevil #229 – In the midst of the legendary Born Again storyline, Matt Murdock has been beaten, broken and driven to the edge by his arch enemy, the Kingpin.  At his absolute lowest point, as snow rains down on the city and the rest of the world celebrates the Holiday Season, the former Man without Fear will not find comfort or a helping hand, even from Santa Claus.

Incredible Hulk #378 – This hidden gem in the classic Incredible Hulk run by master scribe Peter David pits the Gamma-powered behemoth against his mightiest opponent yet – Santa Claus?  Trust me true believers, this is not a Holiday issue to be missed.

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #112 – When a burglar decides to commit larceny dressed as Santa he makes one a big mistake.  He breaks into the abode of the neighbor of Peter Parker, Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man!  NOTE: This cover is an homage to the classic movie poster for first film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator.

Jingle Belle: Santa Claus vs. Frankenstein – Frankenstein’s Monster has returned and threatens the population of an entire village.  The only ones with the power and bravery to face this monstrous threat are Jingle Belle and her father, Santa Claus.

And here’s couple that weren’t on Diamond’s list.

Rise of the Guardians
– When darkness threatens to engulf the land only the greatest legends in history can stop it.  The Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Sandman, and Santa Claus are joined by Jack Frost and assemble to stop the Boogeyman’s diabolical plan.

The Last Christmas – In this post-Apocalyptic adventure the undead have overrun the world but Santa sets out to make sure the last good little boy on Earth gets his Christmas wish, even if he has to destroy every single zombie stalking the earth in order to do it.

Lobo: Paramilitary Christmas Special – Tired of being overshadowed by the Jolly fat man, the Eastern Bunny hires the Main Man to take out the competition, but Lobo will find out quick that Father Christmas is not an easy mark.  What follows is the bloodiest, knockdown brawl of Lobo’s career.

Never let it be said that ole Saint Nicholas is not a man of action.  Happy New Year, everyone!

This is Odinson bidding thee farewell
